Face Coverings

Face covering information

  • For staff and students in all years, face coverings should be worn at all times inside the building, (i.e. when moving around, queuing for food, outside of classrooms, such as in corridors and communal areas where social distancing cannot easily be maintained).
  • In addition, face coverings should be worn in classrooms or during activities unless social distancing can be maintained.
  • Face coverings do not need to be worn by students when outdoors on the premises, sitting down eating or during PE lessons.
  • Face visors or shields should not be worn as an alternative to face coverings, unless a mask is also worn underneath.
  • Students will be provided with 2 washable face coverings when they return to school from Monday, 8th March. They can also bring their own face covering if they have one.

Face covering exemptions

Some individuals are exempt from wearing face coverings. For example people who cannot put on, wear or remove a face covering because of a physical or mental illness or impairment, or disability, or if you are speaking to or providing assistance to someone who relies on lip reading, clear sound or facial expression to communicate.

If your child is exempt on medical grounds, please complete the form below:

How to wear a face covering correctly

A face covering can act as a barrier to prevent the spread of the virus. However, it must be used correctly and always combined with other measures to protect yourself and everyone else.

Here is a how to video showing how to wear a fabric covering safely.
